Description of the model
Pilario’s LCA Soft drink model serves as an essential tool for addressing environmental challenges related to soft drinks and their packaging. It is based on the shadow Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules (PEFCR) developed by UNESDA Soft Drinks Europe together with Blonk Consultants. The tool is designed for UNESDA members to calculate environmental impacts across the lifecycle with an industry-wide standardised methodology. The model includes a variety of ingredients as well as packaging materials, including glass and plastic containers, enabling UNESDA members to evaluate and improve the impact of their soft drinks fully and effectively.
