What is the emission factor?

This article explains what is the emission factor, a unit used across the whole model.

Emission Factor

The emission factor of CO₂ refers to the quantity of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions produced per unit of activity or input, such as fuel consumption, energy production, or material usage. It is a crucial parameter in estimating the carbon footprint of various processes, activities, and products.
In order to simplify the usage of the tool, Pilario proposes the default emission factor values published by the ADEME in their Base Empreinte.
